What makes you sexy?

The word sexy would probably conjure in your mind images of Victoria’s Secret or Shirley of Hollywood lingerie models.

After all, isn’t that what sexy is all about?

In fact, Google sources define sexy as:

voluptously sensual in appearance or behavior
marked by or tending to arouse sexual desire or interest

But, I think over time, the word sexy has been redefined to mean more than physical attractiveness.

For me, sexy means you’ve got something incredibly appealing more than your face or your body like:

Brains. I think geeks are hot because their super brains make them so appealing. And if you check out People’s list of sexy male geeks and Wired’s list of sexy female geeks, you’ll see that great brains can be in equally great bodies too.
Confidence. Oprah may not be beautiful or sexy based on typical standards but I think she’s a sexy woman just the same. Apart from her compassionate heart and open mind, she exudes so much confidence that she bravely shares herself to the world even if sometimes it makes her look less than perfect.
Humor. Adam Sandler did not strike me as an attractive guy. But his incredible sense of humor makes him sexier than most gorgeous actors in Hollywood. (Though I think he’s sporting a great body in You Don’t Mess with Zohan.)

So think again.

By my definition, you are sexy too.

You just have to recognize what’s appealing about you.

Honestly, my body makes me feel so unsexy right now. But I just think about what’s appealing about me (my eyes, my brain, my optimistic personality) and I start feeling sexy again.
