WAHM practice day

August 8, 2010 in Motherhood

One of the reasons I love weekends is I get to practice how it’s like to be a work at home mom.

I wake up during the wee hours of the morning when my girls are sound asleep. Then I do some money blogging and a little bit of “business research.”

Teddy bear and laptop on sofa

When my eyes or my head start to ache, I go snuggle back into bed and squeeze myself between my babies. We usually sleep in, like now when we all woke up at almost 11 am!

Oh but the big smiles of my girls when they woke up next to me… priceless! When Jamaine asked, “Mommy wala kang office today?” and I said yes, her eyes just lit up and she got all excited to get up from the bed and play.

I guess you could tell my WAHM goal has been on my mind day and night. I am determined to reach this goal by April of 2011.

I’ve figured out what I needed to do, but I am still finding a way to scale it up into a real money maker.

It gets challenging at times because I’ve got a full time job on weekdays and sometimes I feel so tired when I get home.

It can get mind numbing too when I have assignments that are quite difficult to write about. (Like how do I write about something like 108R00723? Oh wait, I just did.)

Multi-tasking becomes even more important. Like right now, I’m typing this while we watch “Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses.” My brain is trying to process my thoughts for this blog post while I try to explain the answer to my girls’ every “Mommy, why this…” and “Mommy, why that…” Good thing I’ve already memorized the whole plot and almost every dialogue.

But I know I can do this. I just have to keep trying and practicing. It always works out the way I want it to, most of the time even better. ;)

Work week begins tomorrow.

Have a happy week ahead! :)

I laughed out loud when I read your assignment. Where’d you get this? Really, really difficult. Hehe. But you incorporated it nicely in this post =)

Haha… thanks Josiet. It’s from P2B. Had very few assignments lately, but thankfully it’s starting to pick up again. :)

Jayme, Wow, I love the fact that not only have your set a goal, you have told the world your goal. Statistically you have improved the probability of achieving your goal dramatically!

You are making the sacrifices that it takes to win, and have also given yourself a realistic time frame to replace your current income. You are a great role model for others. It will be fun to watch your progress as you continue your march to success. Thanks for the post.

Hi Grace! Thank you so much for that lovely and encouraging comment. :) Yes, I’ve always believed that too, that declaring your goal out loud helps you achieve them. Of course, inspired action is also needed.

I’m making progress little by little and I hope that when I’ve finally achieved my WAHM goal, I’ll be able to help others achieve it too.

Thank you so much for dropping by and taking the time to leave a comment. Feel free to drop by again soon. :)
