I was putting Kalia to bed for an afternoon nap when I realized Kernie and Jamaine had been out of the house a bit too long.

We had just come from hearing the midday Victory service at UP. On our way home, hubby said he’ll drop off Kalia and I while he and Jamaine would go to the nearby gas station to have the car’s tires pumped with more air.

I thought maybe he had the car checked much thoroughly that’s why they took a bit longer. But I was getting hungry and I was looking forward to our “famealy.”

I asked them where they were at and Kernan replied that they were on their way home.

I decided to lie next to Iya and take a little nap myself.

Minutes later, Jamaine went inside the playroom holding a single rose saying, “Mommy, I have a flower!”

I actually thought that flower was for me originally. But I really didn’t expect anything. See throughout our relationship history, Kernan and I hardly celebrate events on their exact date.

Minutes later, Kernan entered the room…

Wow! was the only thing I could say at first.

I was really very surprised and very delighted with the beautiful flowers. I love it when Kernie surprises me like this. I feel like we’re in our courtship stage all over again.

Most especially the beautiful violet roses with the yellow stigma nestled in the middle. So beautiful.

Kernan said he ordered the bouquet days before but when he arrived to claim it, he changed his mind and had violet flowers included to match what I was wearing that day. Jamaine was in on the Valentine’s plot.

My Valentine’s was a simple family day with a really special flowery touch.

Of course, this is just a glimpse of the real celebration. A series of Valentine’s dates coming up next.

For me, love means a lot of things. But right now, it’s happiness and contentment. And I am grateful everyday to have people who make me feel so blessed and loved.
