The birthday post

happybirthday

I’ve stopped minding my age since I turned 18 but every time February rolls by, I remember that I always turn a year older. And of course, 10 years wiser. ;)

I did not make a wishlist this year because I’ve already got the best gifts ever. I guess as you grow more mature, you tend to want material things less and less. And you appreciate the intangibles even more.

Of course, I still want “some stuff” but, as it is, I am content with everyone and everything in my life.

My birthday fell on a Sunday, our usual family day.

For the first time in so many weeks (or months?), I got to sleep in really late. I came from a speaking engagement the night before and spent the first few minutes of my birthday there. It felt good to wake up when I felt really rested and I felt as though I snatched back the sleeplessness I’ve had in the past weeks.

After hearing the midday service at Victory in UP, we went to Market! Market! for the babies’ play day. We had a nice family dinner and went home close to midnight.

The next day, Monday, was birthday celebration part 2.

Finally, Kernan and I were able to watch Avatar in 3D. Extra long but super awesome movie. In fact, I liked it so much that I want to watch it again and own it on DVD. This one deserves a separate post. Suffice it to say that I loved it a lot! :)

My darling hubby also got me two books that I’ve been wanting for so long now: Shakti Gawain’s Creative Visualization and Mike Dooley’s Infinite Possibilities.

I only wanted to buy Dooley’s book but Shakti’s book just jumped at me while I was browsing through the shelves and it was the last copy too. Absolutely happy that I got it because it’s a really wonderful book full of amazing insights and empowering practices. Again, this deserves a separate post. But if you’re ever into self-development, this one’s a good read.

Tuesday was still a birthday extension. Kernan and the kids picked me up from work and brought me straight to my favorite vintage store. Luckily, the store was on sale and I was able to pick up a lovely blouse by Anna Sui. I’ve been on a hunt for clothes designed  by her and Tsumori Chisato. I super love their whimsical style and inspired designs, I’d fill my closet with their clothes.

It’s a great start to another year in my life. The cherry on top of my celebration were all the good wishes I got through text and Facebook from soul friends and from people I didn’t even expect would remember.

Thank you God for my life and for the life of those people who embody your love for me.

Here’s to an amazing year ahead! :D

Happy birthday again Jayme!

Special occasions are really meant to be shared with the people you love. Once you have everything na, talagang there’s nothing else to do but thank the MAN above for all the blessings.

Thanks Rach and Riz! :)

@Rach: Yup, HE is amazing beyond words. :)

@Ris: My birthday was actually on February 7, na – delay lang itong post ko. Hehe… The vintage store is called Uberfinds near Sgt. Esguerra. Will write about that store soon. The owner is nice kasi he notifies customers pag may sale or bagong stocks na. :)
