I was quietly washing the dishes when an ad on TV caught my attention.
It was Black Friday and there was nothing on except for some old movies. Kernan happened to land on a home shopping channel showing an ad for an hgh supplement that was supposed to make you a couple of centimeters taller.
I glanced at the TV and listened to the testimonials from supposedly satisfied users. “This really works… I grew by so and so centimeters. Mas confident na ako ngayon!”
Right.
Isn’t it strange how those who do the testimonials always say them in a sing song voice. Obviously, their lines are scripted but somehow being on TV lends them a certain sense of credibility. Oh, and there are photos proving that they did grow taller. Hmm… the wonders of Photoshop.
Maybe they do work and maybe they don’t. But if you’re someone who will go to great lengths just to be taller, you can easily fall into this kind of trap. Of course, the ad would conveniently miss out on telling you that there are controversies surrounding HGH.
Makes me wonder if there are people who do buy into this kind of advertising. Because if there weren’t, there won’t be any reason for them to run in TV.
Just thinking aloud.

I really don’t believe these testimonials, unless those come from someone I know personally, he he.
Yup, that’s always the best way to go. Advertisers really should ditch old school tactics like this one.
