Whenever I feel stumped for ideas or need a break from brain freeze, I take my make – up kit and whip out my little weapon against boredom and mental block: lip gloss.
There’s something about slicking my lips with pink shine and moisture that kicks me into high gear, ready to tackle that blank page and just type away.
It helps that my lip gloss of choice has mint in it. I said way back that I love Smashbox O Gloss especially the intuitive color. But when I discovered Cover Girl’s Wetslicks Amazemint, I tossed my O Gloss into the drawer and never used it since.
Cover Girl Amazemint is cheaper at P375 a pop. It comes in the traditional lip gloss tube with angled applicator. I’m not too crazy about its packaging, I think it could be improved. But the benefits far outweigh it’s lack of aesthetics.
It’s lightweight and leaves a minty fresh feeling on the lips. It feels like you’ve just brushed your teeth.
Remember to brush your lips gently after you brush your teeth to exfoliate some dry skin. Then apply Amazemint right after to amp up the minty kick!
The minty feeling lasts for about 30 minutes or so, shorter if you drink liquids since it wears off quite easily. So if you’re after a long-wearing gloss, this may not be for you.
I like that it has a range of real pretty colors with cute names too. Mine is Pink Positive.
But I also like Everything’s Rosy and Tickled Pink. I’m planning on buying them when my gloss runs out which is pretty soon because I use it every day. (I like it that much.)

Amazemint has earned a permanent place in my make – up kit with my Revlon Beyond Natural foundation and miracle blush — a lovely choice which I’ll talk about in another post.

i like! i’ve always been using Nivea’s Star Fruits (Cherry flavor) lip gloss. it smells good but like other lip glosses, it just leaves your lips feeling matte and oily. the mint on the lip gloss is something i’d like to try.
thanks for the tip =)
I used to use Nivea’s Caregloss because the colors were nice and it made sense to have your lip balm and gloss in one. Not to mention they were really cheap. But I found them too sticky and the smell isn’t so nice after awhile. :S
So far Amazemint’s a keeper for me. Do try it and let me know what you think.
Hi Jayme
The Etude House (Korean brand) just opened a few days ago at SM Megamall. I got their Plumping Lips Tint (in Red) which leaves a nice gloss finish and a cool, minty sensation. Really nice! I suggest you try it. The price is about P340 I think.
P.S. It’s also being endorsed by “Boys Over Flowers” actor Lee Min Ho. Pretty cool!

Hey Sarah, thanks for the tip. Will definitely check that out when I go to Megamall. I’m now fascinated with minty glosses. Will try that one and do a review too.
