Pretty polaroids

April 3, 2010 in Blogging

I love polaroids. There’s something about that extra white border on the photos that add an element of cool.

Since I’ve been tinkering with Photoshop for quite some time, I’ve learned how to create this effect with layers and drop shadows. But whenever I’m feeling a little bit lazy, I go to Big Huge Labs for a quick fix. You just upload a photo from your computer, Flickr or Facebook account. Click “Create.” And it’s done, just like this:

This is a photo I took of the Ponte de Amizade or Friendship Bridge in Macau back in 2006. I think it’s one of the longest bridges in Macau. I still added the caption via Photoshop but that’s much less work compared with creating the Polaroid from scratch.

If you’ve ever wanted to add a little pizazz to your photos, go to Big Huge Labs. They have a bevy of stuff there to glam up your photos like different frames and borders. You can even make motivational photo cards, mock magazine covers and customized jigsaw puzzles.

Check it out and let me know how your photos turn out. ;)
