One of the perks of working from home is I get to eat with my kids every meal of the day. Our breakfast, lunch and dinner is almost always a picnic event and we enjoy eating together. We almost always have snacks too which is good for them, but not always good for me.
We’d have cupcakes, chocolate tops, peanut butter sandwiches and pasencia while watching “Tangled” or “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” Of course, when they don’t finish their food, I’m the one who finishes it. Sayang diba? But I’m trying not to do that all the time.
The good thing is I can still run a few times a week. Especially with my upcoming 10k race this Sunday, I really had to motivate myself to log some running time. I actually finished a 10k practice run recently which I’m really proud of.
When I’m at home, I’d like to think I’m still getting some sort of workout walking to and from bedrooms and up and down the stairs. I can’t count how many steps I actually do, but if I were wearing shape ups or mbt shoes, that would have probably added up to my burned calories for the day.
Anyway, I’ve resolved to take it easy with my body this year. I figured as long as I eat in moderation and run a few times a week, I’ll be okay. The more you stress about dieting and working out, I think, the more you actually gain. So better to just enjoy eating, enjoy working out or doing whatever physical activity you enjoy, and most importantly, feel good about your body.

mahirap talagang magdiet and all pag maraming food sa paligid na masarap kainin!!
ganyan din ako dati… laging nanghihinayang when it comes to leftovers… but now, I try to avoid doing that kasi it’s not helping me at all.
