Oh my back! Oh my baby!

At 9 months, Jamaine is weighing 8.6 pounds.

But, in our last check-up, the pedia said Jamaine didn’t gain much weight.

She advised me to give her “real food” and feed it to her twice a day to help with the weight gain.

I don’t know about that weighing scale in the clinic, but my back certainly feels Jamaine is getting heavier. (Or am I getting weaker?)

I have to take a deep breath before I pick her up and after only a few minutes of carrying her, I could feel my back starting to ache.

It’s a good thing she loves staying in her crib surrounded by her book and toys.

But once she gets into her “lambing” mood, she’ll let out a little cry and puts on a pleading face I can’t resist. Not that I’m complaining though. I know in a few months time, I’ll have to catch my breath running after her.

So I consulted my ever reliable resource, the What To Expect site, for some great tips for postpartum back ache. One of them includes doing some gentle exercises.I know, I know, I really should get back in shape.

The Christmas and New Year feasts have left me with a bulging belly and I’m feeling sluggish again. I don’t dare measure my waistline but I’m guessing I’ve only gained a little bit because my pre-pregnancy jeans still fit.

But summer and Jamaine’s swimming party is only a few months away and I want to look like a hot momma when that day arrives.

I’m digging up my old two-piece bikinis for motivation and inspiration.

Another good thing is I came across this exercise video which I’m going to try later. Judging from the descriptions from the site, it looks like a fun workout.

I’ll let you in on my experience tomorrow.

Hi Tita Dine! It’s really amazing how she grows so fast. Mabuti na lang she’s learning how not to be distracted by the camera. Konti na lang, mukhang matututo na siyang mag-smile. :D
