Of running and chocolate

Wow, the week is almost over and I’m just relieved the election fever is starting to die down. Things are going back to normal and we’re back to regular programming.

Aside from the election coverage, there is just one other thing that kept me occupied this past week. This place has been our hangout for the past couple of mornings.

Kernan and I have been waking up earlier than usual and running around UP. That’s partly for working out and partly for training for the upcoming race this Sunday.

Yeah, I’m falling for running. I am falling really hard. I’ve actually got three blog posts in draft all about running, I am seriously thinking about starting my own running blog to log my progress and keep me accountable.

The motivation is there, it’s easy for me to wake up early on most mornings. The only other challenge I’m facing now is the eating healthy part. I try to control my portions but some things are more trying to control than most.

Just like this one.

Cerealicious has finally landed in our office canteen and it’s like a magnet drawing me to it every lunch time. I used to crave for this a lot but I only get to eat it when we are at Galleria. And now it’s just within reach. Every single day.

I like this food so much, I want to franchise it so I can have my own stall. I mean, how can you resist something like Mint Joe Black?

The Koko Krunch mixed with chocnut and mint chocolate drizzled with chocolate syrup is just pure heaven to my tastebuds. I just have to have a blockbuster every time. Okay, maybe I should just have a smaller trailer next time.

But this is just so good.

Sometimes I think I run so I can have the pleasure of eating chocolate and all the other sweet stuff I love. But then, if I really want to tone up, I really have to cut down on my beloved sweets. :(

Last weekend, we learned about this weight loss program that involves using meal replacement shakes and popping some fiber supplements. It’s supposed to be better than the best weight loss pills around. And we’ve seen proof that it works because the person who told us about it lost sooo much weight himself.

Of course, he did have an exercise program but at the same time, he was controlling his diet by just having one full meal a day and drinking special shakes to replace the other two meals he’s supposed to eat. It sounds good but I’m not sure I’m ready to take that route.

I love eating food. And chocolate. And cereals with chocolate bits laced with luscious syrup.

Oh well, I love my body just as it is now because it allows me to do all the things I need and want to do. I just have to strike a balance between having the fit body I want and eating my chocolate too. ;)

What have you all been up to?

hay naku! i find it really hard to be motivated to run or do any exercise… kasi once i stop – balik na naman ung weight ko and more pa! grabe! :( so what I do now is to be conscious with what I eat na lang talaga… and do my walking in the morning – when I’m about to go to work.

Bad noh?

Hey Rach, well we all have bad habits that we keep doing but soon enough you’ll reach that turning point when you just want to break it and do better. Walking or any physical activity is better than nothing. I’m sure you’ll find a fitness regimen you’ll enjoy too. :)
