Moving to a new home

After staying in our small one-bedroom apartment for more than a year, we have finally decided to move to a bigger house before Kalia’s arrival.

We will start transferring some of our stuff and furniture tomorrow, though we’ll have to wait until the electricity and water service is up before we completely move in. The lessor says it could be late next week.

The house was a real good find for us because it met all our criteria: the rent is reasonable, it has two spacious bedrooms, our own free parking space, within a safe compound and, best of all, it’s just 10 minutes away from our workplace. Plus, it’s right beside a hospital, in front of a drug store, and two blocks away from the market.

The structure is actually old that’s why I didn’t like it when I first saw the exterior of the apartment. But when we checked out the interiors, everything was newly-renovated and we were told that we would be the first tenants to occupy it.

I’ve asked Mama’s help to spruce up the place so it’ll have that warm cozy feeling. I’m actually excited to decorate it because this is going to be our “first” home. You see the apartment we live in now is actually Kernan’s bachelor pad so it was already set up even before we were married and I just brought my clothes when I moved in.

The new house is a clean slate and hubby says I can decorate it any way I want. Yay! :D

Kernan and I plan to stay there for a couple of years while we save money to build our real dream house.

I already told him I had a vision of what our dream house will look like.

Remember Cameron Diaz’ house in the movie “The Holiday?” It was absolutely gorgeous! Even at first sight, I knew that was how I wanted our house to look like.

Of course, a house like this will cost a lot and we’ll probably need bank financing or mortgage lenders to build it but I can dream, can’t I?

Kernan says he’ll try to give me the house of my dreams and I know he’ll be true to his word.

As long as I have him and our two darling angels with me, anywhere is a dream home.
