Jamaine has fine straight hair and she likes it down a lot. When she was a baby, we’d have no trouble putting rubber bands, clips and clamps to fix her hair because she really has no choice she’s such a well-behaved baby.

But now that she’s older and can pretty much assert herself, she prefers to have very minimal clips on her hair or, if she can have it her way, none at all. Sometimes I’d manage to distract her and convince her she needs at least a rubber band to tie her bangs into a half-ponytail so she can watch her favorite Dora series much clearly. But later on, she’d complain her hair feels itchy and she’d try to pull off the rubber band herself.
Now that I realize it, she must have picked up this preference from me. I started out as a kikay baby but as I grew older I really didn’t like putting too many clips on my hair. I used to wear headbands but I would often get a headache after I use them. Most of the time I would put my hair up in a ponytail or twist it in a bun with a scrunchie. But since I’ve resolved I would love my hair more this year, I hardly use clips or headbands and just let my hair down.
Sometimes it does look a bit messy. But still pretty. Haha…
I have a love-hate relationship with my hair that has spanned more than half my life. But that’s another story. Will post about that in a bit.
Here’s to more happy pretty cool hair days!
