The little bed invaders have taken over our queen – size bed leaving very little space for mommy and daddy. So now, mommy and daddy are sleeping on the floor.
Well, not exactly on the hard floor. Kernan and I import the extra mattress from the playroom and put it beside our bed so that we’ll have something soft to sleep on.
Funny how our girls loved being cuddled while they sleep when they were just babies. But now, both of them sleep spread eagle on the bed and want as much space as possible.
On the brighter side though, bringing in the extra mattress means Kernan and I get to sleep hugging each other since the kids are not sandwiched between us.
What would really be cool is if we had something like this:

Can you say genius? This is called the Love Mattress by Iranian designer Mehdi Mojtabavi. I imagine he must love hugging his partner while he sleeps too, and he knows what it’s like to feel that pins and needles sensation on your arms after awhile. So what better way to solve that than placing slats on your cushion.

The mattress has slats for both ends and a solid middle. But the slats are actually detachable and they can be arranged any way you like. You can even place slats right where you want your feet to sink in like this.

Let’s see if any of our local manufacturers pick up a concept like this.
In the meantime, we’ll make do with our floor mattress until the kids grow up and (I let them) have their own rooms.
