While everyone was busy reflecting / vacationing last April 1, we were celebrating Jamaine’s third birthday.

I was so very grateful to the kind souls at the Libis branch of Red Ribbon who kept their store open on a Holy Thursday. We were able to buy Jamaine her small but super delicious Chocolate Heaven cake.

It was the last piece and we arrived just on time to get it. Jamaine used to just stare fascinated at the candle but now she says she’s “big” enough to blow her candle with just a little help from Daddy.

Oh yeah, she’s her Daddy’s girl. People always say they’re a splitting image. What do you think?

This is a really nice shot taken by Jamaine’s ninang Mahleen, just at the right moment when both our girls were smiling. I love, love my angels to the “universe and back.”

Iya will turn two on June 2. Don’t worry baby, your special day is just weeks away.

We wanted to celebrate Jamaine’s birthday with a play day out but since it was a Holy Thursday, all the fun places were closed. But she had just as much fun swimming with Daddy.

Iya took a dip too while I stayed on the sidelines as their dutiful photographer.

After swimming, we went to visit Mama who also bought a cake for Jamaine (from the same Red Ribbon branch). My baby girl just woke up from a really late afternoon nap so she was feeling kinda grumpy. Iya was able to nap much earlier so she was game for candle blowing.

Kernan and I told Jamaine we’ll have a  grand celebration on her seventh birthday. If she’s still into Dora by then, it will probably be a summer explorer themed party.

Wow, sometimes I still get all amazed by it. Jamaine’s slowly growing into a little lady but we’ll be sure to savor every moment now while she’s still our darling baby.
