If your room starts to feel more like stuffy and stale than relaxing and refreshing, then that’s your cue to liven things up.

Here are some simple tips to freshen up any room, even if you’re on a budget:

  • Place a small potted plant in your room. This adds a touch of vitality and life to any space.
  • Find a photo of a beautifl landscape, have it framed or laminated then hang it where it’s always in your line sight. It’s like having an instant window with a view.
  • Change your wallpaper or paint your walls a different color. Choose a soothing light green or a calming pastel blue for maximum relaxing effect.
  • If you’ve got a bit of money to spend, change old furnitures like chipped cabinets or creaky beds. Find a store that sells discount furniture so you can pick up stylish yet affordable stuff for your room.
  • Try spraying some room fragrance. Soothing aromas can put you in a relaxed mood once you enter the room. Plus, there’s a certain happy feeling that you get when you have a whiff of a nice fragrance.

What I do is clean clean clean, then rearrange furniture so it can have a new look even if everything is old.

Hey Loren, I agree cleaning is the most effective, not to mention the most low cost way, to freshen up a room. And it helps keep furniture looking new too. :)

That room in the pic is gorgeous. I wouldn’t mind having that room instead of my current one! :D

I try to keep our bedroom as sedate as possible. It’s been awhile since I’ve freshened it up. The last time was we bought this gadget that released a eucalyptus scent in the air… it was wonderful!

Hey Toni, it’s sooo pretty no? Can’t help but feel so upbeat and cheery if you have a room like this.

That eucalyptus gadget sounds interesting. I guess that enhances the relaxing feel of the room too. :)
