Holiday mode

December 28, 2010 in Miscellany

Christmas has come and gone but I’m still in holiday mode. I’m relishing the happy vibe before another year begins.

How was your Christmas?

If I could summarize my celebration in three words, it would be food, fun and thanksgiving.

We spent Christmas eve with hubby’s side of the family and Christmas day on my side of the family. I can’t even begin to describe how much food we ate on both days. There was Mommy’s tasty adobo and Mama’s delicious menudo, two of my favorites. There was pansit, spaghetti, fried chicken, fried tilapia, inihaw na tilapia, beef mechado, macaroni salad… I’m getting hungry again.

There was no need for fancy dishes, good old homecooking was the best for us. And after we survived on chocolate shakes for the past months, the noche buena and Christmas feast were heaven. Diets be damned, we ate. And we ate a lot. ;)

It was so fun to watch the kids opening their Christmas gifts. They were so excited to play with all their toys, they both slept past 2 am on Christmas day. I think this is the first time they really enjoyed celebrating Christmas and receiving gifts.

There was just a little mishap that threatened to mar our celebration. I won’t go into details because it makes me sad when I imagine it. But suffice it to say, that I am so thankful, and I mean very, very thankful that guardian angels were hovering over us last Christmas. I am thankful that every member of our family is present, healthy and safe.

We’ve been so blessed this year and we are being blessed every day. 2011 is just a breath away and I’m excited for all the good things yet to come.

Much as I would love to send everyone a holiday postcard with my personal note and your address stamped on it, let me do it the bloggie way:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
