Good morning sunshine!

January 22, 2010 in Baby

I was going through my usual morning shower when I heard a soft knock on the bathroom door.

“Mommy!”

I opened the door a bit and peeked out.

“Good mowwning!” Kalia was at the door all smiling from ear to ear. She woke up early and in a good mood too.

“Wait lang baby ha. Mommy’s just taking a bath.”

I kept the door ajar so she would be assured I was just there.

“Good mowwning…. good mowwning…” She was greeting her big sister Jamaine who was still very much asleep.

I love it when she wakes up like this. I could almost imagine our bedroom bathed in sunshine.

Remember this little surprise bundle of joy?

I remember it was around this time two years ago when we “discovered” we were having Kalia. Kernan and I got so worried because almost 4 months of my pregnancy zipped by and I neither had check – ups or prenatal multivitamins. We were worried then that Iya might be undernourished because I was actually dieting at that time.

But here she is one and a half years later. She’s now a big bundle of happiness, sweetness and cuteness.

She’s healthy, pretty and smart. She’s very sociable and adjusts well to people ( a trait she inherited from her daddy ;) )

People used to say she looked like Kernan too but now they’re commenting Kalia is looking more and more like me.

Whenever I do my gratitude journal, my three angels – Kernan, Jamaine and Kalia – are always on the top of the list of blessings I am grateful to God for.

Waking up with them beside me is really the sweetest thing. :)

No matter what the weather, I always wake up saying “Good morning sunshine!”

What are your mornings like?

i so agree with you. i love it when Mia wakes up in a good mood! pero more often these days, nauuna siya magising sakin so that’s ok because she still sees me beside her. pagising ko, she’s happy.

pero pag nauna ako especially when it’s really early and i have to leave early, naku sira umaga namin pareho. how do you deal with that?

I can so relate to that. Lalo na if it’s Jamaine who wakes up with a bad mood and I haven’t left for the office yet. Naku, it will take me an hour to convince her that I need to go to the office because “Mommy needs to earn money so we can buy her toys and pay for school.”

Usually it’s lambing that does it for my girls. I explain to them as clearly as I can why I need to leave for the office tapos I assure them I’ll be home “‘Pag may moon na.” I play with them for a bit and sing their favorite songs. When this happens, nale-late na talaga ako. But I always think, I’d rather be late than leave my babies crying. Kaya as much as possible, I try to wake up even earlier so I can leave while they’re still asleep.

I just think I should appreciate this time while my babies are still “running after me.” In a few years time when they’re all grown up, baka they would want me around them less so they could do their own thing. ;)

That’s the same reasoning I use with Mia! pambili naman ng milk ang usual kong sinasabi. hehe. it really works most of the time, explaining to them the “real” consequences of actions.

On the other hand, when she gets to be a teenager, I’m afraid of that happening in the future! hehe.-
