I’ve always loved pink and a little bit of frill. I used to be a really girly girl.
I started gravitating toward darker – colored clothes a few years ago after I had my babies. See I needed to look slimmer.
But after seeing Bayo’s Soft Look Collection, I fell in love with pink and frills all over again. I think I’ll go back to being a girly girl.
This one is the prettiest of the bunch. I love the tiered skirt and how the pastel pink color makes it all look so delicate.

Inspired by Johnson and Johnson’s Soft Skin campaign, Bayo’s Soft Look Collection is an amalgam of ruffles, lace and eyelet fabric that make up billowy dresses, soft tops and feminine bottoms meant to show off sun – kissed skin.
I like this tube dress too because it seems quite forgiving to a less than shapely tummy.

I talked to Mary Grace Magcamit who designed the collection for Bayo and she said the clothes come in trendy cuts but a soft palette was used to make the collection look classic.
Her vision for the collection? “To make every woman embrace her femininity.”

Composed of 17 pieces, the Soft Look ensembles look so romantic and feminine. If you’re every bit of a girly girl as I am, you’ll probably want to have most of the pieces.
I say most, because some of the pieces in this collection look more appropriate for beach parties or dressy dates. Other pieces might be a bit of a challenge to pull off. Just like this one.
Darla lace vest, P1,295. Anya paper bag skirt, P1,395.
I can’t imagine wearing this outfit. But switch that shorts with some nice-fitting pants and I think we may be on to something.
Some may pieces may look appropriate for corporate wear, just like this high-shoulder blouse. Again, you may have to switch the bottom with something much, much longer.
Chelsea pirate blouse, P1,545. Anya paper bag shorts, P1,345.
One way to make these wearable for everyday is to pair the pieces with other wardrobe staples like jeans or tank tops. Changing from flipflops to strappy sandals can take you from day to night.
For example, you can dress down this beige number by pairing the pants with a tank top and wearing cute studded flip flops.
Maureen corset top, P1,245. Marsha high waisted dhoti, P1,495.
If you’re blessed with a shapely body, I think you can pull off most, if not all, of the pieces in this collection. If you’re on the boyish or the curvier end of the body spectrum, just choose the ones which will flatter your shape.
This ruffly top can look good on slender girls who are a little bit on the flat side.
Denise ruffled top, P1,795. Lancel high-waisted shorts, P1.295.
A practical tip from Mary Grace, make sure to check how sheer the clothes are and wear nude underwear. A multi-colored or fuschia pink bra under these outfits will definitely look unsexy.
With the exception of a few ensembles, most of ourfits in this collection are short. And I mean really short. So one other thing you must keep in mind if you want to wear this collection with panache, have smooth and soft skin.
Martina top, P1,495.
Be hair-free in all the right places. Slather a lightweight lotion all over body. I’m currently trying Johnson’s Body Care Natural White UV Lotion, and it’s actually pretty good. It feels light and smooth even in this summer heat. It also lightened some dark spots on my legs within a week.
Here’s another one of my favorites from the collection. I especially love how the skirt adds hips (which I don’t have). And when I want to wear an outfit like this, I’d definitely want to have nice flawless legs to go with it.
Mara top, P1.245. Shai tulip skirt, P1,595.
Johnson’s Body Care brand manager Via Abaño also offered additional tips to get glowing skin: “Always drink water and keep yourself hydrated, wear cover–ups and put on sunscreen, get a good night’s sleep and also a bit of exercise.”
I like the outfits Mary Grace and Via are wearing too.

Of course, nothing beats eating healthy and working out because that gets you glowing from within. Because if you think about it, the real highlight of your look is your beautiful skin.
So now, I’m taking better care of my body and seriously rethinking my wardrobe. I’m back to being a girly girl again.

What do you fancy in this collection?
Special thanks to Patty Oh of Strategic Edge and Diane Olivia Salva for the pretty photos.

You’re a pink lover too? Cool!
I’m actually looking at my wardrobe and thinking of purging some stuff and replace them with some pink clothes. I miss being a girly girl.
