Kernie and I just finished a box of cheese pizza and mojos.
I told him someone at the office treated us to some pizza and mojos for late lunch and I feel like eating some again tonight.
The next I knew, the Shakey’s delivery guy was already at our door. My ever sweet Kernie thought of having pizza and mojos delivered just to satisfy my craving. (Yeah, he’s sweet like that and I love him for it.)
It’s dinner for him and comfort food for me.
Can you tell, I’ve been feeling a bit blue lately? Maybe not just a little bit. Maybe more than a bit.
And I’m cheering myself up with pizza and blogging.
Yup, the blues have struck again. A little late this time, I think, since I’m already two months postpartum. But I’m winging it.
I’ve temporarily postponed my healthy, sexy mommy challenge because of it.
Kernan though has been a steady inspiration for me.
He has been successfully going on “no rice diet” for weeks now and he’s really lost a lot of weight.
And if you knew him, you’d know that this is a great feat because he’s the type of guy who would find it absolutely difficult to go on a “no rice” diet.
My hubby is a HUGE rice man. He used to eat plate after plate of rice in one sitting. He always justified it by saying he burns it anyway when he goes to the gym or when he pops one of those fat burners.
I used to oppose his habit of taking those appetite suppressants and “energy boosters.” They always had those weird names like Ephedrine, Ripped Fuel, Ephedrasil Hardcore, which often sounded like drugs that can automatically transform you into a macho muscle man. I’ve always said that they may make him feel strong but it’s just artificial strength since it’s induced by the drug not by his body.
I’m glad he’s finally realized it and has gone all natural: just plain old dieting and working out. And I think it’s working well for him too.
I told him I’ll join him once I stop breastfeeding Kalia a couple of months from now. But I’m slowly trying to eliminate one rice meal a day.
I know I better hit the Pilates mat again soon.
But pizza and blogging are my chosen comforts for the day.
And right now, I need to feel comfort more than to feel fit.

Hey Jayme
I hope you’ve cheered up by the time you read this! Weight loss isn’t a straight line as much as it’s a series of advances and retreats. Take heart and be encouraged that the next meal is another chance! All isn’t lost. By the way, I tried Pilates yesterday and THAT is a workout. I can’t laugh without hurting now! Good luck!
I feel this way when that time of the month is nearing . Pizza always cheers me up. I hope you get out of the dumps soon! (hugs)

Hey Joanjoyce, I’m not exactly sure. But we didn’t need to measure the weight loss anymore because it was already so evident in hubby’s face and body that he has really, really lost a lot. I will probably try it a few months from now when I stop breastfeeding.
