Plurking thoughts

Jayme is trying to post a blog but Plurk is so distracting and addicting. (Want to know why? Plurk with me here.)
Jayme thinks of being a stay at home mom so she won’t miss her babies.
Jayme says “I need a good dose of inspiration from Oprah.”
Jayme feels fired up with all the thoughts running in her head.

I’m on Plurk!
I’ve never been an active member of social media sites. I’ve signed up for Digg, Stumbleupon, and Twitter but I’ve hardly used my accounts.
But when I got the tip from Shai about Plurk, something about it just made me want to dive right in. It’s like Twitter but I think it’s much cooler.
You can see your posts and the responses to your posts in a neat timeline. You can use emoticons too.

Welcome our second angel!

Hi everyone!
Just a quick post to let you know that our second angel, JAN KALIA, was born via normal delivery last Monday, June 2 at 6.4 pounds and 50 cms.
We’re both at home now and I’m sneaking a little blogging time while she’s sleeping.
I’m still on recovery and getting by with a little help from pain relievers. But I’m getting stronger everyday, thank God for family, friends, journaling and chocolate cake.
I expect to be up and running again by the weekend. Hopefully, I’ll get to buy more online time by then.

Are you trapped?
She was ashamed to admit it but she knew she just had to come out of the trap she created for herself if she wanted to be free.
She was leading a secret life as a gambler.

Three things that made my week

1. My new moleskine
I finally caved in. But this time, of course, I’ve already used up my two old idea notebooks which gives me “reason” to get this new one. I just decided to have one idea notebook this time since my achy back requires that I bring a lighter bag every day. Does it have to be a moleskine? Not really, but it’s something that I’ve been lusting after for a long time so I just went ahead and got it. It’s only been with me for a day but I’ve already filled up four pages which means it’s inspired me to write a lot. It’s my new writing best friend.

Skinny me and the real slimming strategy that works
Can you believe I was this thin?
This photo was taken at the height of my crazy dieting and slimming days.
I had gotten complacent about my weight and gym workouts then that I felt like a huge balloon. So I resorted to a quick fix that most women probably turn to in desperation: diet pills.

Missing you…

Kernan left for China last Friday for a special project and he won’t be back until Tuesday. I’ve been missing him a whole lot and wish I could pull the days faster.
Since roaming charges can pack a ton, we just communicate through text which makes me miss him even more.
The last time we were away from each other was when he went to Vietnam last year. Since I was quite busy with work and wedding preparations then, my attention was quite divided.
But since I’ve switched jobs (story in another post) and I have no major events upcoming, I have weekends all to myself and it makes me feel his absence more.

On growing old
I was taking a snack break at the mall when I saw her. The woman was about 70 years old or so, definitely someone who should already be in retirement. I noticed she was browsing through the classified ads section of the weekend paper filled with ads for jobs in different call centers.. She isn’t still looking for a job is she? I thought. Silently, I hoped she just didn’t have anything to read and was just whiling away her time.
When I see old people still working for a living, I feel a bit of dread about growing old.
