Can you smile for me?

July 28, 2009 in Just Jayme

Can you smile for me?

Thanks.

I need a lot of that today.

This is one of those days when staying positive becomes a wee bit challenging.

I try to refrain from being too personal on this blog. I have another online journal just for that.

But this time, I just need to release.

I’ve been trying to keep things positive in my other blog, Jayme’s Journal.

And this post is less than positive so I’m publishing it here.

***

Sometimes I wonder why we like to make things so complicated.

Life can be simple.

Life can be happy.

But why do we always choose the other way?

Most of us get hung up on the past.

Why don’t we choose to let go and appreciate the present?

What do we gain by keeping our pride?

All I know about pride is it keeps you satisfied for awhile but in the end it leaves you empty.

Why do we think we’re so much better than everybody else?

We are always quick to judge other people, but we are so slow to acknowledge that we have flaws ourselves.

***

If you think you’re so perfect, look in front of the mirror and watch your sins flash before your very eyes.

You’re perfectly flawed just like the rest of us.

Own it.

Once you do, maybe you’ll be more compassionate of other people around you.

***

There.

I’ve let it go.

Enough.

I’ve been sidetracked from my journey to love.

And now I’m walking back to my path.

***

Can you smile again for me?

Thanks.

You just helped make me a bit happier today.

“Get hung up on the past” – I’m very much guilty of this. It’s something I need to learn how to deal with.

“Tapos na ‘yun ba’t binabalik mo pa?” – yan ang kung minsan ay naririnig ko na sinasabi sa ‘kin. I have to change my attitude.

Hey MJ, it’s so nice to see you dropping by here. “Long time no see.”

I guess all of us have to learn how to do this. I read from Eckhart Tolle that the longer your relationship, the more you have to be present or else you’ll tend to relive the past over and over again.

Now that’s a real challenge but certainly worth doing.

More peace of mind and more love.

:D
