Can you feel Christmas coming?

September 17, 2010 in Home

Christmas stocking on treeI love the cold crisp air whenever Kernan and I jog at UP in the morning. Christmas is still three months away but it always feels good knowing it’s just around the corner. December is always a happy month for me since it’s hubby’s birthday and our wedding month.

I’m thinking of how we can make Christmas more special this year for the kids. We haven’t been putting up Christmas trees and lights because I’m concerned about my girls picking at the decors and thinking they’re edibles.

But now that they’re much older, I’m considering the idea of us decorating a Christmas tree together and maybe putting up some big red stockings by the stairs. We could make it like a family tradition. I could already imagine Jamaine and Kalia squealing in delight when they find surprise stocking stuffers there.

When the nights get colder, we can even go out and set up some mini outdoor fireplaces and make s’mores paired with hot chocolate. Yum! When they’re much older, that could be our bonding night for sweet treats and good stories. I’d like to think my girls would be close to me like that when they grow up.

I’m getting dreamy, well Christmas makes me sentimental like that.

How about you? Any dreamy plans for Christmas?

I love Christmas songs too! It’s like no matter what mood I’m in, Christmas songs make me feel better. :)
