“I love my body
And I am thankful it allows me to enjoy my life and to do the things I want to do.”
I’ve been saying this mantra a lot lately.
I’ve gotten back into running and Kernan has been patiently encouraging me to wake up mornings to go for our daily runs.
Sometimes I feel fit and healthy, I’m confident about myself.
But there are still times when I feel like a puff ball, especially during those times when some “insensitive people” tell me, “You’ve gained weight.”
You know how I feel about people like that.
Even if I want to retort, “Then that makes two of us,” I keep my mouth shut, shrug it off and recall my mantra.
I can’t control what people tell me, but I can control how I react to them. I love myself just the way I am.
I’ve read that self – love is the antidote to anything, even weight loss. Because when you love yourself, it follows that you’ll take better care of your body, you’ll pamper it, and you’ll feed it better. Self love can beat the best weight loss supplement any day.
So whenever you feel a little less loving of your body, say it with me:
“I love my body
And I am thankful it allows me to enjoy my life and to do the things I want to do.
I love myself just the way I am.”
