Mean girls.

I used to love watching that movie over and over. I liked watching Lindsay Lohan and her glamorous school life. Though I didn’t agree with the queen bee mentality, I liked how fashionable they all were and how pretty the clothes looked. The movie sorta reminded me of Clueless which was one of my favorite movies growing up too.

I used to think Lindsay Lohan had it good. She was just four years younger than me and yet she got it made. She was a pretty big Hollywood star rolling in the big bucks. I thought she must have had a pretty awesome life. I wasn’t obsessed with being like her but I thought it would be cool if I was.

It’s sad when you read news about people like her getting jailed and see how she goes on a downward spiral with drugs, alcohol and partying. They go in and out of alcohol rehab and opiate detox as if they’ve taken on this new role of celebrity addicts except that, it’s not in a movie, it’s real. Makes you wonder why they would do that themselves when they’ve got more than enough to be thankful for. Or so it seems.

I guess no matter how many rounds of rehabs she goes through, her downward spiral won’t stop unless she realizes she deserves something better. It’s an inside job she has to do herself. No blaming other people, just taking full responsibility for how her life is going to be. Hopefully, she will.

I’m reminded now, while it’s cool to admire celebrities and high rollers on TV, nothing could be more awesome than the life you live. Always be grateful.
