I’m stepping back a little bit to cast a final glimpse into the past and to fire myself up for today and the exciting future ahead.

I chanced upon this segment on the Today Show awhile ago and I was simply amazed and touched by this mom’s story.

Rachel Wyrick was 35 years old and weighed a whopping 252 pounds. She had two kids and she constantly worried about how to keep up with them because she was so heavy.

She stayed indoors as much as she could and often avoided shopping because it wasn’t really exciting to buy clothes with size 22.

Then one day with the help of her supportive husband “who had always supported her and seen her as beautiful no matter her size,” Rachel just decided that she was gonna change her body.

She started doing exercises 5 days a week while she also watched what she ate and within a year and a half…

Now that’s what I call one hot mama.

It’s amazing what willpower and a lot of loving support can do to transform your life.

You just make that decision to do all that it takes and refuse to take the shortcuts. No diet pills, ephedra supplements or appetite suppressants.

Getting into exercise and making healthy food choices do take a lot more effort and discipline but they produce amazing and lasting results. Not to mention the confidence boost that comes from a truly fit and healthy body.

Watch this video from the Today Show to know more about Rachel’s story.

About The Author: Jayme

I am Kernan’s devoted wife and Jamaine’s loving mom. Apart from these two most important roles in my life, I am also a writer at heart. I was born and raised in the Philippines and I’m proud to be a Filipina. I’ve lived in Manila all my life but I dream about having a house by the beach so that I could witness the sunrise everyday.
