The near-sighted snob
I have a confession to make, I am a snob.
Yup, I snub people when I pass by them through corridors, streets and walk ways. Often, I just look past them and go on my way.
But it’s not because I’m a real snob.
I snub people because I can’t see their faces.
I am near - sighted.
When people are far away from me, their faces all look like round blurs. I only recognize them when they’re about an arm length a way. And by that time, it will already be too late to say “Hello” because the person has already passed by me, probably concluding that I am such a snob.
The obvious solution was to wear contact lenses or eye glasses.
When I went in for a consultation, the optometrist said I cannot use contact lenses because of my hectic work schedule. Most likely would not have the time to do the required cleaning and maintenance.
So I settled for eye glasses instead. I shelled out more than 2,000 bucks for glasses made with a branded frame which I thought was more than enough to make it look fashionable.
But when I finally wore the glasses, someone commented I looked like a grandmother! And when you’re in 20s, you don’t just dismiss a comment like that.
I’d probably be better off wearing sunglasses so I could at least look mysterious and fashionable too.
Anyway, here is a pair of womens sunglasses that seems like a good idea:

These are OveRxCast glasses and they’re designed to fit over prescription glasses while providing UV protection.
Another option is to roll the reading glass and sunglass into one like bifocal reading glasses.

But I’d really like to wear something like this sexy chic.

They’re all under $20 which is way cheaper than what I spent on something that ended up looking like “granny glasses.”
But with the rainy season on and off nowadays, I would certainly look weird wearing shades. I guess I’d stick with the granny glasses for now. Or not.
Anyway, just in case we pass by each other and I don’t greet, you at least now you know I’m not really a snob. I’m just near-sighted.
