Ice cream + bloggers = Poppin’ fun!

It was like a mini-children’s party complete with balloons, great food, fun games, cool gifts and lots of ice cream. Only that the “children” were actually bloggers who were kids at heart.

The Nestle Poppin’ Bloggin’ event held last night at the Nestle Creamery gathered ice cream loving bloggers together for the launch of one of the newest and coolest surprise from its freezer: Nestle Pops.

The first blogger dinner for Nestle

It was Nestle’s first blogger dinner.

In case, you’re beginning to imagine popsicles on a stick, let me give you a sneak preview of what Nestle Pops is.

Nestle Pops

Filling the Pinoy’s constant craving for snacks, Nestle Pops are bite-sized vanilla ice cream coated in chocolate.

Gel, Nestle’s Consumer Marketing Manager (Ice Cream and Chilled Dairy Division), says, this new ice cream snack is the first of its kind. How cool is that?

Inside the handy tub are these yummy little goodies just waiting to be popped in your mouth.

How does it taste? Let’s just say it made my tongue tingle with its melt – in – your – mouth goodness. More on that in another post.

Do you want to be a Pop Star?

All of us bloggers got a chance to be Pop Stars as Gel revealed the Poppin’ Bloggin’ Challenge for the night. The prize at stake was a Pop 9 Lomo Camera.

The Poppin's Bloggin' Challenge

Everyone was given a chance to play Pop d Stars, an online game at http://getyourpopon.ph.

Pop d Stars website

All we had to do was get through two rounds flicking Nestle Pops at the mouths of the Rock Poppers and Boys for Pop band members. The one with the highest score wins.

Pop d Stars game

If you want to get in on the action, flick away at Pop d Stars site and get a chance to win an Xbox 360 with rock band game and other cool prizes.

Guess who the Ultimate Blogger Pop Star was? Arpee got 54 points and won the Pop 9 Lomo.

My first blogger event was a blast

The moment I got MadCrowd Media’s invitation to the Nestle blogger event, I knew it was time to break out of my blogger shell and go out to meet other bloggers.

It was great to finally be able to see the faces behind the blogs I often lurk hop on and to meet other bloggers as well.

I just realized that no matter how advanced our communication technology gets, seeing real human faces and talking to the bloggers in the flesh beats staring into a laptop screen and commenting on blogs.

Not to mention, bringing home gifts after the party.

When we arrived home, I opened up my gift and…

Poppin' gift

Poppin’ gift!

Ice cream loot!

Ice cream loot!

More ice cream!

This GC was my prize for the Bloggin’ Poppin’ challenge which means… more ice cream!

I had ice cream loot enough to make me abandon my planned “Hot Mama” challenge. But that’s another story.

that’s pretty cool. this is the first time i heard of a local company take the blogging avenue in promotion (aside from the trinoma blogger’s meet, but that’s not consumer goods). which gives me an idea… :D super thanks for this post!

Hi, Jayme! God, I envy bloggers in the Philippines. Companies have yet to really embrace blogging as a marketing tool, and forget about them reaching out to bloggers except for a very, very rare few. It sounds like the Philippines is way ahead of the game in terms of social media marketing!

Your gifts look so cool! Congrats!

Cheers,
Marjorie

Hi Marjorie! Glad you’re here. :) I think blogging is fast increasing its influence and company’s will probably recognize it’s marketing potential in time. I’m guessing social media marketing will boom soon. :D
