Shopping on Black Friday
Did you know that the one of the busiest days in the US falls on a Black Friday?
Here we have a Black Saturday when people are also busy preparing for the celebration of Easter or enjoying the second to the last day of vacation before going back to work Monday.
In the US, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving which usually falls in November. It signifies the beginning of the Christmas shopping season so shops drop their prices to the floor and offer huge discounts on their premium items. Expecting throngs of people, the shops are said to open as early as 5 am with eager shoppers already lining up their doors. Traffic is said to be at it’s height on this day thus giving it the name Black Friday.
But of course, for those people who want to take advantage of the sale frenzy sans the hassle, there’s always an option to buy online. Black Friday sites allow online purchases for sale items which is good for those people who don’t want to elbow their way through the crowds early in the morning. The site also offers email alerts when new shop ads are posted so shoppers know the latest products on sale.
They have a host of shops on their roster like Macy’s, Old Navy and Sears. But I’m keeping my eye on Babies R Us and Toys R Us on black friday 2008. It would be great to score some discounts on toys for Jamaine and baby stuff for Kalia.
