Lovely happy face
This special cream is one of the newest (and fast becoming “most-loved”) product in my beauty arsenal.
The Face Shop dubs this product as “love in a bottle” and it belongs to their “happy line.” Now how’s that for smart marketing?
I’ve heard of TFS even before it opened its first store in the Philippines in 2006. But then I dismissed it as an Asian variation of the Body Shop so I never really took a closer look.
Until early this month, during some random web surfing, I chanced upon Shopcrazy’s old blog entry on TFS’ opening in Manila and read through the end of the comment thread.
There were a lot of raves from the readers on how good TFS products were. But I was more impressed at how Kim from TFS - Manila patiently responded to the readers’ queries about their products and gave pieces of advice about the products that were right for their specific skin condition.
I got curious so I did some research on my own. I came across some articles mentioning Arsainte as one of TFS’ most popular products because of its moisturizing properties.
A quick look at the TFS site says:
The perfect comparison to describe this line would be ‘Multi-vitamin for your face’. Just like your daily intake of multi-vitamin this multi-functional skin care line formulated with 25 European herbs will supply every bit of the daily requirement for a perfect skin. It is gentle to begin with (alcohol-free); stimulates cell-renewing; soothes your exhausted skin; energizes your cell with the endorphin-like herb; supplies long lasting hydration and nourishes for greater resilience.
I was convinced enough to troop to the TFS branch in Megamall to take an even closer look.
Shopping at the Face Shop
Upon entering the shop, I was instantly impressed with its wide array of products. Aside from skin care products and make up, they also carried ones for hair care, body care and even fragrances. I think they could be called the body shop too.
I also liked the glowing ambiance in the shop, it felt fresh and light.
I checked the Arsainte shelf and I was overwhelmed by the number of products included in the line. On the shelf were:
- Liposome essence
- Skin softener
- Essence emulsion
- Lip and eye cream
- Moisturizing booster cream
- Special cream
For someone who’s used to the cleanser - toner - moisturizer routine, having six products spelled overload to me. But the saleslady patiently explained that each product acts as a preparation or booster for the next product to ensure maximum effectivity.
I wonder if this is the reason Koreans have such flawless skin. If it is, then it’s quite an investment since buying the entire line will cost around P5,000.
While mulling over my potential purchase, I checked out the other lines available.
There was the White Tree line that promised to whiten and even out the skin. The Quick and Clean line that targets acne-prone skin. And the M10 line, anti-aging products that promise to take 10 years off your skin. They also had a pore minimizing line and a line specially for men.
After the saleslady explained to me the benefits of each line, I finally decided on getting Arsainte. Since this would just be a trial phase, I decided to buy just two products to see if it would work for me. The friendly saleslady advised that I would benefit from having the Skin softener and the Special Cream, and if I liked it, I could just add the other products eventually.
So I got both and threw in The Intensive Sun Cream with SPF 50.
Upon check out, the saleslady gave me a tiny bottle of the Arsainte essence lotion for free so I walked out of the store with half of the product line with me.
The Arsainte experience
The Skin softener was refreshing and using it was so economical because the bottle came with a small stopper on top.
The Essence lotion seemed good enough as a moisturizer but the Special Cream was the one that really sealed the deal. It was very rich so I only needed a tiny swipe of cream for my whole face.
The cream was easily absorbed by my skin and after a few minutes, it looked like it had a soft glow. It was the kind of glow that came from just the right amount of moisture, unlike the oily kind of moisture that came with other rich creams that I’ve tried before.
After two weeks of trying Arsainte, I’d say I am extremely satisfied. My skintone has started to even out, my small pimple scars have started to lighten up and I have a soft flush on my cheeks.
A lot of people commented I was glowing so I guess it really works.
I’m thinking of buying the other half of the Arsainte line one by one. I think it’s a worthy investment considering the effects and its economical use.
And I think they’re right in calling Arsainte their “happy line” because, with the results I’m seeing, it’s really making me happy.
My next mission
So I’ve successfully taken the first step to going natural this year, starting with my skincare regimen. I’m thinking of going on an all-natural phase even with the body care products I use and, the most challenging of all, the food I eat. That’s all part of my quest to live a healthier lifestyle.
I’ll let you in on how that works for me.
